On
January 2nd 1993, Waiting For Words launched at "Le Caveau de la rue des Martyrs", in Paris, their
Tranquility Tour 93 and the release of
their debut album,
Tranquility.
January 2nd 2008, 15 years later, we offer you this 1st album, with all defaults and charms of a first self produced album by 2 young men aged 22 & 23, musically educated by the sound of New Wave and Electropop.
It's here the digitally masteed version released on CD in 1999, but without the Bonus tracks that will be later released on a "
Rarities" compilation.
Inoks & ZeN already produced, with their limited ressurces, a fresh and naive synthpop, like an UFO at the time when Europe & US were about to fall under the Grunge and loud guitars.
When released, this album received encouraging reviewes (KOF, Libération, Strange Mode) and the Tour went on fine with 2 unforgiveable highlights : the Open Air "Parc des Buttes Chaumont" for more than a thousand people and the Depeche Mode Party at "le Gibus" for 800 persons.
"
I had same long hesitation before agree to put on line our first recordings. When I listen to those today, I mainly hear all the defaults and mistakes LOL. However, this album was largely distributed at the time, broadcasted on some radios... therefore the damage is already done anyway . More seriously, this album is part of our history, and even if I don't listen to it easily today... I'm still proud of it. It features some good moments such as Burning Steel, the first version of Cause I Do Believe or Memories." - ZeN (2008)
It's without pretention, without the desire of being reviewed, criticized or celebrated that we offer this album today.

Various info:**
Krystal Overture, Cause I Do Believe &
Burning Steel were first released in June 92 on 3 tacks musicassette entitled :
Krystal Ep. Those 3 tracks were recorded in Live conditions at BMT studios. Only electronic drums and bass for
Krystal Overture &
Burning Steel were previously recorded on sequencer. All the rest was performed and recorded Live on a 16 tracks analogic studio, and most of the time, in one take only.
** Other tracks were recorded at ZeN's home studio for instruments, and at BMT again for vocal parts
** the closing title
Untill The 3rd Red was recorded and mixed in a couple of hours at Inox's studio. The duet felt the album was a bit short and Inoks had started working on this tracks as a demo. They completed the track just in time for the mastering of the album.
** Main synths & devices used :
Korg M1, Roland D20, Rythm Box Yamaha RX7 and a 4 multi tracks tape studio recorder
Enjoy !
