UK : Change in the line up... El Lute to leave the band after April 9th
Major change in the line up of the bandEl Lute, drummer since 2004 (
and previously between 1995 & 1998) has decided to take a step back from WAITING FOR WORDS.....
The atmosphere in the band has never been so good and there’s no human factor behind this move.....
After 6 years spent behind an electronic drum kit, El Lute simply expresses the need and desire to go back to a more organic kind of music, drums/bass/guitar oriented as well as some personal businesses he have to focus on.
El Lute will give his last performances on April 3rd in Brittany and on April 9th for the 20th Birthday concert in Paris.....ZeN & Mycrotonik were prepared to this decision and are already up and running to carry on the Tour and the future of the band.....
They will not take any replacement and
will go on as a duet for now,
still accompanied on stage by strong visual screenings presence.....The band will then soon release the 2
nd Ep, the follow up to the critically acclaimed Ep “The Curve” : “Miles Away”, an amazing pop song featuring an incredible vocal duet between ZeN and his wife, Soe_V (
already there on the previous album “A Walk Through The Night”)....
The Tour will head then towards UK, Germany and other places.....
It’s finally kind of funny for the band, at the time they are celebrating their 20
th Birthday to be back to a 100% electronic duet formula…....
Message from the band :....« By the end of last year, El Lute expressed his desire to move on to
another kind of music, closer to his influences and background, more
organic, playing on acoustic drums with bass, guitars…....
We all agreed to wait a bit the beginning of the tour and most of all the Birthday Concert, not to jeopardize the band’s future and promotion of our latest release.....
The more the birthday concert is coming and the final step in settling the 2
nd leg of the tour, the more we feel it is the best time to announce it.....
This is all new page of our history ahead of us.....
The last 6 years with El Lute has been extraordinary, and Waiting For Words is a family you don’t run away from easily
Over the last 15 years since El Lute first joined the band, we’ve learned that “Goodbye” is a word that doesn’t exists in El Lute’s Dictionnary
He’s a member of the family and will never be replaced…. Because no one can replace El Lute, neither behind a drum kit, nor in life.....
Mycrotonik and ZeN, after a bit of sadness following El Lute’s decision, already have started re-working the set, and a lot of new tracks and they are thrilled by what is coming ahead. ....
Waiting For Words has always been a band at the top of their art when they were challenged, standing at the bottom of the highest mountain…. Heading to reach the top.....
Feeling in danger is motivating, exciting and a great thing to experience… which doesn’t mean we don’t appreciate some calm sometimes
We count on you to be there for the next concerts ! April 3rd and our Birthday concert, on April 9th will be the last performances of El Lute and some great parties! We know the guy enough to predict he will give his best performances and that the beat of the drum is gonna be loud, powerful and sexy as never before.....Mycrotonik and ZeN will soon perform for the first time in a new formula… They’ll need 200% support from you !....
Some plans are on the good path to be finalized for Germany, UK and other interesting places and of course, the 2
nd EP, “Miles Away” , actually under production”....
ZeN : «
I want, and also in the name of Stewart and Geena from Emsar Management, to thank El Lute for his loyalty, friendship, talent…. He gave all his dedication, time and energy to the band and has always raised the band’s level by is amazing drum gifts, his humor, his experience, and having him by my side on stage for so many years, from the little pub in the 90’s to venues like the Bataclan, Glazart, Underworld, Steeple was one of the biggest honor and gift life could had offer me. » ....
Mycrotonik : «
Having a drummer in an electro/pop band is already not common, but on top of that, El Lute is no ordinary drummer ! He brought and mixed his hot rythmic influences towards machines sounding, often considered as « cold ».His personal touch gave a higher dimension to the band’s music, both in studio or live.....This musical, but also human experience, will remain set in stone forever.»
Fred aka El Lute Montana : «
Hi fellow WORDIES....First of all, I want to thank my 2 « colleagues » : ZEN and MYCRO for their talent, availability, their kindness and most of all, patience and respect for
me.....Thanks to our manager, STEWART who allowed us to exile and bring awareness on WFW’s sound over the channel, in UK....Thanks to all of you who come – and stay lol - to our gigs, buy our CDs or T-shirts and are part of the WFW adventure !!!....Come and celebrate with us this anniversary, on APRIL 9th, @ CAVES ST SABIN, Paris, as I can thank you in person and celebrate this « departure drink » LOLI count on you and thank you already… and tell you : See You Soon !!! »
WAITING FOR WORDS is not about one specific individual or another. It’s about a music that grows and evolves because of the heart and soul that members give into it. El Lute’s heart and soul are part of Waiting For Words for ever, just like Inoks, Théo and all members that have been key in our history, and his influence is in us forever.....
We wish him good luck for his future project.
We know we will bring a lot to his new “colleagues” and we know that in a near future, he’ll be back with us, in a way or another, to share all he’s going to learn from now, because believe it or not… he learns, like us all, every day more by working hard, experimenting and innovating.....
So watch out for more news in the coming days and weeks, because this is not the end of the story. ....
It’s another important step and some exciting projects are coming....
